Living Room Inspiration

So our living room is painted a shade of blue that I love (most of the time). But I am becoming less and less enthralled with everything else about it over time. You can see it here. The green and orangey-red accents I am not so sure about. At least not the way they are used currently. I do love that everything ties together well, but I think I might be ready for some change. Here are some blue living rooms I think are pretty cool.

This one has a color scheme most similar to our living room now, but somehow looks much more elegant. I like elegant- if you couldn't tell. :)

I like the casual feeling of this room. Not a huge fan of the "cabin" feeling it has, but love the comfortable-factor and the crispness of it.

Simple, almost modern, but not quite (I am not a huge modern fan). I also love the gray couch on blue walls. Also the carpet is sort of similar to ours so it shows how colors would truly tie together in our space specifically.

If I were a rich Jane Austen character in the present day, this is where I would live. :) Oh to dream!

I have always loved old houses. I love how the crisp light blue is mixed with white and dark wood tones. Elegant but relaxed. The crossing of my two worlds.

If you knew me in middle school and high school, you would know that I have a funky side. At 17 that meant a lot of neon green, neon orange and fuschia pink in my life. I once asked my parents to paint my bedroom Royal Blue. (They wouldn't let me.) This living room is my favorite. It has a traditional tufted chair, a relaxed couch and fun and funky curtains with a calming color scheme. This is the inspiration room for our living room for sure!

Dining Room Inspiration

I love the simplicity of this dining room.

I love the homey, informal feeling of this dining room
as well as the french country accents.

This one has dual functionality! We have a lot of books also, but I'm not sure what I think about doing this in our current space. But it's definitely cool- a good use of space in small houses.

Aren't these colors beautiful!? So light and spring-like!

Who knew small dining rooms could be so elegant?

This one is close to what I have created in my mind's eye for our dining room. I love the color and the formal feeling in a small space.
